Coffee & A Cookie is an online periodical of casual conversations with New York art professionals about what it means to work with art. It finds the company of those who are grounded and neighborly—and happy to trade a good story for a cup of something and a treat. This accumulating record of one-on-one chats will be a partial diary of our art world, made up of witticisms and anecdotes, encouragement and warnings. It aspires to be an index of the roles and responsibilities that sustain the change in and flow of art in the world from its tireless center. Each guest chose the favored spot for the meeting, and was asked to take a snapshot of what was on the table before tucking in. These instant photographs are the only visual souvenirs of the events, and are offered here as another way of recalling the story.
Serena Qiu is responsible for all conversations, coffee and cookies. Serena is an independent art writer, currently living in Brooklyn. She studied art history and English at Duke University and writes for a few different places. To read more about her, please see her website Q. Find her at serena@coffeeandacookie.com
